On August 17–19, at the invitation of Colonel General Alexander Manilov, Chairman of the Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders of the CIS, a delegation of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov took part in international events held in the area of responsibility of the Border Directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
On August 14, consultations were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states on organizing joint training activities for command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system in 2027.
On July 15, 2026, the High-Level Regional Meeting “Enhancing Capacities to Prevent the Supply of Weapons to Terrorists in Central Asia” was held in Moscow, organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism with the participation of the Russian side.
On July 14, 2026, a working meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov and UN Assistant Secretary-General Alexander Zuev.
The 2nd CSTO Military-Economic Conference “Development of Cooperation among the Defense Industries (Military-Industrial Complexes) of the CSTO Member States: 20 Years of Practical Cooperation” held in Minsk

On June 18, 2026, the 2nd Military-Economic Conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, entitled “Development of Cooperation among the Defense Industries (Military-Industrial Complexes) of the CSTO Member States: 20 Years of Practical Cooperation”, was held in Minsk on the sidelines of the 3rd International Security Industry Exhibition “National Security. Belarus 2026”. The event brought together representatives of relevant ministries, agencies, defense enterprises, and other institutions and organizations of the CSTO member states.
The participants reviewed the results of 20 years of cooperation within the CSTO framework, held an in-depth discussion on current issues related to the further development of military-economic cooperation, and exchanged experience in the production of high-technology military, dual-use, and special-purpose products.
Opening the conference, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov noted in particular:
“The CSTO is interested in giving additional momentum to the development of interstate ties, which are among the most important components of truly fraternal, good-neighborly, and genuinely allied relations built on the principles of equality and mutual consideration of interests.”
Summing up the conference, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov highlighted the work being carried out within the Organization to train personnel for defense industry enterprises and organizations of the member states. He also noted:
“The discussion demonstrated that we share common or closely aligned views on most pressing global and regional issues. Our countries are interested in steady development both within the framework of bilateral cooperation and in multilateral relations. Moreover, in all areas we are ready to continue strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation together.”
