On 17 April 2026, a working meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Central Asia, Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kaha Imnadze.
On 17 April 2026, the 17th meeting of the Working Group under the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils on information security was held in Moscow, with the participation of delegations of representatives of national coordinating and competent authorities on information security, as well as experts and specialists from relevant national structures and agencies of the Organization’s member states.
On 16 April 2026, the 21st meeting of the Council of the CSTO Consultative Coordination Center for Computer Incident Response (CCC CSTO) was held in Moscow, with the participation of delegations of representatives of national competent authorities for computer incident response of the Organization’s member states, as well as a delegation of the CSTO Secretariat headed by Umarzoda Umar Safar, Head of the Countering Challenges and Threats Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
On 17 April, the annual training courses for representatives of the CSTO member states who do not have the status of military personnel were completed at the CSTO Secretariat.
On 15 April 2026, a meeting was held in Bishkek between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

From 11 to 14 October, formations participating in the joint training “Rubezh-2024” with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region are regrouping in the Republic of Tajikistan.
Contingents of CSTO troops (Collective Forces) are being sent from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation to the training area in accordance with the plan.
One of the priorities for military cooperation identified by Kazakhstan, which is chairing the CSTO this year, is to improve issues related to ensuring the operational deployment of the troops (Collective Forces), including the unimpeded transit of contingents.
In Tajikistan, a joint training with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian region “Rubezh-2024” is being held at the “Harbmaydon” training range, during which the issues of preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state will be practiced.
Particular attention will be paid to the issues of organization of air defense cover for the units of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region at the stage of regrouping, operational deployment, as well as interaction of the Command with the air defense forces and assets of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 201st military base of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the preparation and conduct of combat operations.
Formed in 2001 on the basis of the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region comprises units and subunits of the armed forces on permanent readiness, equipped with modern weapon systems and military equipment.
The main tasks of the Collective Forces are to participate in repelling external military aggression and conducting joint counter-terrorist operations.
