On May 6, 2026, a meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between the CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykovand newly appointed Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the CSTO Vladimir Bespaly.
28 April marks the Day of the CSTO Joint Staff. It should be recalled that on 28 April 2003, in Dushanbe, the Collective Security Council, guided by the need to establish a military staff body responsible for implementing the military component of the Collective Security Treaty, adopted the Decision “On the Establishment of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.”
On 27 April 2026, within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Contours of a New Architecture of Collective Security: Current Issues of Information and Analytical Partnership within the CSTO,” held at MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, a round table entitled “Eurasian Analytical Platform: New Approaches in a New Geopolitical Reality” took place. During the event, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat Yuriy Shuvalov delivered a presentation on “The Eurasian Analytical Network: A New Cognitive Architecture of Collective Security.”

On 15 April 2026, a meeting was held in Bishkek between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev.
The interlocutors held a detailed discussion on a wide range of international issues affecting the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for the development of the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Talatbek Masadykov informed about the progress in implementing the Action Plan for the execution of decisions adopted at the November (2025) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the Organization’s priority areas of activity during Russia’s chairmanship, including preparations for upcoming meetings of the CSTO statutory bodies.
Talatbek Masadykov also spoke about the work of the CSTO Secretariat in the analytical domain, emphasizing that a significant impetus for its development was provided by the adoption of the Issyk-Kul Initiative in June 2025, which brought together leading experts from across Eurasia. The Secretary General also informed about the International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Contours of a New Architecture of Collective Security: Current Issues of Information and Analytical Partnership within the CSTO,” scheduled to be held on 27 April in Moscow.
The Secretary General emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between the CSTO and other international structures in the interests of strengthening Eurasian security, noting in this context the intensification of contacts with the United Nations and the SCO, as well as plans to develop relations with ASEAN countries and the League of Arab States.
For his part, Jeenbek Kulubaev reaffirmed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to expand constructive dialogue and enhance practical cooperation through the foreign policy agencies of the CSTO member states, and also expressed support for further development of interaction with other organizations aimed at strengthening Eurasian security.
