From September 22 to 25, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov will take part in the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. Meetings between Talatbek Masadykov and UN Secretary-General António Guterres and his deputies are scheduled. The meetings are expected to address a wide range of current issues, in particular, peacekeeping and counter-terrorism.
On September 23, Talatbek Masadykov will take part in the traditional annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states, held on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the world organization.
Today, the active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” concluded on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the “Conduct of combat operations” stage, two main training objectives are being practiced: the occupation by the national contingents of the CRDF CAR of the area of responsibility and the destruction of illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the exercise, the participating forces are practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of cooperation within the Organization, as well as the current state and prospects for developing the collective security system.
The key topic was preparations for the upcoming session of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC).
The interlocutors exchanged views on the military and political situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, with particular attention to challenges and threats in the Central Asian region.
