On 5 March 2026, a working meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Yuri Seliverstov.
On 4 March, Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Adilet Orozbekov presented certificates of advanced training in the field of “Information Security of Automated Systems” to civil servants.
The Protocol amending the Agreement on Cooperation of the CSTO Member States in the Field of Transportation of Military and Other Formations, Their Movable Property, as well as Military Products, and the Protocol amending the Agreement on the Status of Formations of Forces and Means of the CSTO Collective Security System, signed during the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Astana on 28 November 2024, have entered into force.
The CSTO Secretariat has received with deep concern reports of the launch of massive strikes by the United States and Israel against the territory of Iran, accompanied, inter alia, by civilian casualties.
The CSTO Secretariat is closely monitoring developments on the Afghanistan–Pakistan border. The Organization is interested in peace and stability in the region and proceeds from the understanding that the only viable solution is a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict.

A press conference by Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), for representatives of the media was held in Bishkek. The Secretary General summarized the results of the Collective Security Council (CSC) meeting attended by the heads of member states and presented a detailed report on the Organization's activities over the past three years.
Imangali Tasmagambetov highly praised Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the CSTO, noting its responsible and constructive approach. According to him, all the priorities outlined by President Sadyr Japarov a year ago have been successfully implemented.
The key outcome of the summit was the confirmation by the leaders of the member states of their commitment to the principles and goals of the CSTO, as well as the adoption of a package of documents aimed at strengthening collective security. The CSC meeting focused on discussing the military-political situation in the CSTO area of responsibility and growing hybrid threats.
As part of his review of the CSTO's three years of activity, the Secretary General highlighted a number of significant achievements:
Strengthening of collective forces: personnel numbers increased 1.8 times, reaching 30,000; the aviation group was strengthened.
Practical results of operations: during the anti-drug operation “Channel” in 2025, more than 8 tons of drugs were seized, and the operation “Illegal” contributed to the suppression of over 130,000 violations of migration legislation in 2024.
Development of military cooperation: large-scale trainings (“Interaction”, “Indestructible Brotherhood”, etc.) are held regularly, incorporating the latest combat experience.
Cybersecurity: the first international conference and cyber trainings of the CSTO were held, and coordination on countering cyber threats is being strengthened.
International cooperation: Roadmap for developing cooperation with the SCO and the CIS has been signed.
The Secretary General also commented on cooperation with Armenia. He reiterated that the CSTO respects Yerevan's sovereign right to determine the format of its participation in the Organization.
In conclusion, the Secretary General thanked journalists for their work, noting that objective coverage of the CSTO's activities contributes significantly to public awareness and the formation of a constructive agenda.
