CSTO Deputy Secretary General Takes Part in the 9th Meeting of Heads of Border Agencies of CIS Member States in Tajikistan 10.04.2026

On 8 April 2026, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov took part in the 9th Regional Meeting of Heads of Border Agencies of the CIS member states, held in the city of Guliston (Republic of Tajikistan).

At the meeting, heads of border agencies and representatives of the CIS and CSTO working bodies considered issues related to countering threats to border security in the Central Asian region, including measures undertaken both by national border services and within the framework of joint programs.

In his statement entitled “On Joint Measures of the CSTO, CIS and SCO to Counter Challenges and Threats Emanating from the Territory of Afghanistan,” Valery Semerikov noted that coordinated actions by the CSTO, CIS and SCO, as well as the pooling of their capacities, can enhance the effectiveness of fulfilling the tasks facing these organizations. The CSTO Secretariat sees prospects for intensifying efforts to counter terrorism and other challenges and threats through expanding cooperation and improving trilateral interaction.
