On September 4 this year, a round table entitled “CSTO–SCO: Security Space” was held as part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. CSTO Secretariat representative Igor Panarin took part in the event.
On September 4, 2026, consultations on “Coordinating the positions of CSTO member states on the agenda of the UN General Assembly” were held in Moscow in accordance with the Plan of Consultations of Representatives of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States on Foreign Policy, Security and Defense for 2025–2027.

On December 11, 2024, Taalatbek Masadykov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General and Special Representative of the CSTO Secretary General for Peacekeeping, held a meeting with the delegation of the Monitoring Group (MG) of the UN Security Council Sanctions Committees 1267/1989/2253 on ISIS and “Al-Qaeda” and 1988 on the Taliban Movement.
The sides have discussed topical issues of countering terrorism and extremism.
There was an interesting exchange of views on the situation in Afghanistan and the Middle East, as well as the threats posed by terrorist groups in these regions.
The meeting participants agreed to continue the exchange of information.
