From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).
On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.
85 years ago, the Great Patriotic War began. The war machine of Nazi Germany launched a treacherous attack against Soviet cities and villages and committed unprecedented atrocities against Soviet citizens. The peoples of the Soviet Union rose to defend their common Motherland and paid an enormous price for peace, freedom, and the right to live on their own land.
On June 17–18, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov visited sections of the State Border of the Republic of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania.
Representatives of the national agencies of the CSTO member States have discussed interaction with the CSTO Crisis Response Center
On March 18, this year, the CSTO Joint Staff held a meeting with representatives of the national agencies of the CSTO member States authorized to cooperate with the CSTO Crisis Response Center.
The Crisis Response Center, located in Moscow, had representatives of the Joint Staff and the Secretariat of the Organization, the Russian Ministry of Defense, the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center, and the Council of the Commanders of the CIS Border Guard Troops.
Heads of the Operational Command Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Central Command Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Central Command Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Crisis Response Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and Operational Command Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the meeting by videoconferencing.
Reports were presented to participants about the military and political situation in the world and the CSTO area of responsibility, modern challenges and terrorist threats in the CIS space, the main directions of improvement of the CSTO crisis response system based on the experience of peacekeeping operations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as on the development of the CSTO communication system in the interests of the crisis responding.
As part of the meeting, representatives of the Scientific and Production Association "Real-Time Software Complexes" presented special software that allows to automate important areas in the work of the CSTO CRC.
The Head of the CSTO Crisis Response Center Major General Arsen Rakhmanov, summing up the event, noted that one of the key priorities during the Republic of Armenia's chairmanship in the Organization was to update crisis response mechanisms, including the organization of constant monitoring of the situation in the Organization's area of responsibility and working out mechanisms of forecasting and prevention of crisis situations.
He also noted that thanks to the active work of the meeting participants it was possible to discuss topical issues of the crisis response system and to outline the main directions of improvement of information interaction in the CSTO format.
