From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).
On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

The peoples of the Soviet Union rose to defend their common Motherland and paid an enormous price for peace, freedom, and the right to live on their own land.
On June 17–18, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov visited sections of the State Border of the Republic of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania.
Summing up the results of the CSTO Joint Staff's activities for 2025 and setting tasks for 2026

Today in Moscow, at the International Military Center, the results of the CSTO Joint Staff's activities for 2025 were summarized and tasks for 2026 were set with the participation of CSTO Acting Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, who will head the Collective Security Treaty Organization from January 1, 2026.
During the event, summarizing the results, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, noted, in particular, that this year special attention was paid to improving the efficiency of decision-making and implementation regarding the use of collective security system forces and means, further developing the components of the Collective Forces, preparing them to perform their earmarked tasks, as well as improving command and control systems and comprehensive support.
Speaking about the tasks for 2026, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov said: "I consider it necessary to focus the main efforts of the CSTO Joint Staff in 2026 on the implementation of the measures set out in the Plan for the Development of Military Cooperation between the CSTO member states for 2026-2030, the Joint Training Plan for 2026, as well as the priority areas of activity announced by the Russian Federation for the period of its chairmanship of the Organization, which is being held under the motto announced by the President of Russia: “Collective security in a multipolar world: a common goal, a shared responsibility”.
Speaking to the event participants, the CSTO Acting Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov highly praised the joint work of the Joint Staff and the Secretariat this year and noted that the draft Action Plan for the implementation of the decisions of the November (2025) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, based on the priorities of the Russian Federation, was developed. The document aims to actively improve the management system of the CSTO Collective Forces, build the capacity of national contingents, develop joint training, strengthen peacekeeping capabilities, and a number of other important areas.
