From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).
On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

The CSTO and the Russian Foreign Ministry signed an amendment to the Agreement on the conditions of stay of the Secretariat of the Organization of the Treaty on Collective Security on the territory of the Russian Federation
April 9th of this year . in Moscow, the Acting Secretary General of the CSTO Valery Semerikov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Pankin signed the Second Protocol amending the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Collective Security Treaty Organization on the conditions for the stay of the CSTO Secretariat in the Russian Federation of December 19, 2003.
The amendments provide for clarification of the terms of stay of the CSTO Secretariat, and the provision to the CSTO Deputy Secretaries-General, who are not citizens of the Russian Federation and who do not live there permanently, as well as their family members, have diplomatic status and the corresponding privileges and immunities.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO and P.Tihonovsky A.Sultanov and authorized representatives CSTO member states.
