On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.
A working meeting between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Babaev was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.
On June 3, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers (CDM) was held at the Patriot Central Park of the Russian Ministry of Defense under the chairmanship of the Russian side. The meeting was attended by CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Andrey Serdyukov.
From June 1 to 3, Saratov (Russian Federation) is hosting a series of events involving the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization aimed at strengthening the collective response system to biological threats.
On the trainings on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic
05.08.2024The command and staff training with the CSTO CRRF "Interaction - 2024", the special training with the forces and means of intelligence "Search - 2024", the training of forces and means of logistical support of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) "Echelon - 2024" are being held in accordance with the Plan of joint training of the management bodies and formations of the forces and means of the collective security system of the Collective Security Treaty Organization for the year 2024 on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in the period from 3 to 15 September this year.
In the training the following contingents (units) will participate:
- the armed forces of the CSTO member states;
- the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan;
- National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Rosgvardia;
- representatives of the special services of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Operational groups of the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff.
The Armenian side has informed that it had no plans to participate in the training.
A collective security region has been identified for the trainings, along the borders of which there is a wide range of challenges and threats to the security of the CSTO member states.
This involves creating a dynamic, realistic and instructive learning environment, which in turn creates the conditions for making non-standard multivariate decisions.
The “Interaction-2024” command and staff training with the CSTO CRRF is being conducted on the theme: "Preparation and conduct of a joint operation by the CSTO CRRF to resolve an armed conflict in the Central Asian collective security region". This involves working out issues relating to the involvement of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces within the Organization's crisis response system in accordance with the normative legal documents adopted during the November (2023) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
The trainings are to be conducted against a common operational and strategic background (the timing, aims and objectives of the special trainings "Search-2024" and "Echelon-2024" are linked to the subject of the CSTO), which makes it possible to systematically work through the entire range of issues related to the preparation and conduct of a CSTO CRRF operation, including a detailed analysis of the emerging military and political situation, planning the operation and organizing all types of support.
During the upcoming trainings, tasks will be practiced with the introduction of new tactics and combat experience, including:
- Organization of air defense cover (in conditions of enemy use of strike drones) for CSTO CRRF formations and units during their deployment and use, using the full potential of air defense forces and means, including the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as from the CIS Joint Air Defense System;
- use of EW forces and means in cooperation with reconnaissance and strike UAVs, and a number of others.
