From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).
On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.
85 years ago, the Great Patriotic War began. The war machine of Nazi Germany launched a treacherous attack against Soviet cities and villages and committed unprecedented atrocities against Soviet citizens. The peoples of the Soviet Union rose to defend their common Motherland and paid an enormous price for peace, freedom, and the right to live on their own land.
On June 17–18, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov visited sections of the State Border of the Republic of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania.
An international round table on the topic “CSTO: together for strengthening international peace and stability” was held on the sidelines of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation
On May 19, 2026, an international round table on the topic “CSTO: together for strengthening international peace and stability” was held at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria, on the sidelines of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation in Europe.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of the CSTO, CIS, SCO, BRICS and OSCE member states in Vienna, representatives of the OSCE Secretariat and the United Nations Office at Vienna, media representatives from the CSTO member states, as well as independent experts.
Opening the discussion, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov informed the participants about the main areas of the Organization’s activities and the tasks facing the CSTO.
Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov delivered a report via videoconference entitled “The military component of the CSTO as the most important element of the Organization’s collective security system.”
During the round table, presentations were delivered on the military component and peacekeeping activities of the CSTO. They provided comprehensive information on the principles underlying the structure of the Organization, the legal basis for cooperation among the CSTO member states, and the main areas of work aimed at shaping a new architecture of international security in Eurasia.
The participants in the discussion expressed confidence that the event would give additional impetus to cooperation among regional structures operating on the Eurasian continent in the interests of peace and stability.
