On 13 February, a traditional meeting was held in Moscow between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the chairs of the parliamentary committees (commissions) of the CSTO member states responsible for international relations, defense and security. CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and ambassadors of the Organization’s member states also took part in the event.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils (CSSC) Sergey Shoigu gave an extensive interview to the Interfax news agency, in which he commented on the key areas of the Organization’s activities in 2026.
On 12 February, a briefing was held at the CSTO Crisis Response Center by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Nikolaevich Serdyukov on the topic “Results of the joint training of command and control bodies and forces of the CSTO collective security system in 2025 and tasks for 2026.”
The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and the Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Sergey Pospelov have discussed cooperation in the parliamentary sphere in 2023
On January 16 this year, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Imangali Tasmagambetov, held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Sergey Pospelov.
This is the first meeting of the newly inaugurated Secretary General of the Organization I.Tasmagambetov with the Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. The parties have discussed joint activities for 2023 and interaction between the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO PA Secretariat this year in accordance with the previously approved Plan. Sergey Pospelov informed Imangali Tasmagambetov about the work on implementation of the program on rapprochement and harmonization of the national legislation of the CSTO PA states for 2021-2025.
It was agreed that the plans of the CSTO Secretariat and the Parliamentary Assembly for 2023 and 2024 would be coordinated.
They stressed the importance of cooperation in the parliamentary dimension and the ongoing work on the ratification of the documents adopted in the CSTO format and increasing the effectiveness of interaction between the secretariats of the Organization and the CSTO PA.
