From 1 to 23 April 2024, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hosted the regular IX Training Courses of the CSTO member states for senior staff and leading specialists of defense departments, law enforcement agencies, security council apparatuses, security agencies and special services, as well as bodies authorized to prevent and eliminate emergency situations.

"The collective security agreement is not directed against anyone. The states that have signed have proceeded from the need to rally their efforts to ensure security in the CSTO zone, so this is not about private gain. And this is a collective benefit, a benefit that is obtained by joint efforts of all, so our approach is concrete and the sooner the CSTO adapts to modern realities, the better for all the participants in the collective security agreement, ”said Sargsyan.

The Russian leader Vladimir Putin also shared his thoughts on CSTO and security. >.     

“We are trying, as I have already said, having arisen in completely different new realities, first of all, to concentrate our efforts on real threats, on joint struggle against these real threats. But, nevertheless, we cannot pass by things of such a global nature that pose a threat to the whole world, for example, we have repeatedly spoken about our rejection of deploying missile defense systems, placing weapons in space and so on. That is, on such fundamental global issues, we consider it possible to formulate our common approach, and we are doing this, ”said the President of the Russian Federation.
