The 12th Southern Information Security Forum “Infoforum Sochi 2026” is taking place in Sochi, Russia, from June 30 to July 3. On July 1, the Forum's plenary session brought together representatives of federal and regional authorities, regulatory bodies, leading companies, and international organizations to discuss current challenges in the protection of critical infrastructure, the development of artificial intelligence, and international cooperation.
On June 30 – July 1, 2026, Saint Petersburg hosted a series of events chaired by Alexander Kurenkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, with the participation of heads of the competent authorities of the CSTO member states responsible for emergency prevention and response.

The meeting on "Analysis and forecast of the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility" was held at the RSSU

On June 23, this year, at the Russian State Social University, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov held a meeting on "Analysis and forecast of the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility," which was attended by heads and experts of research centers of the CSTO member states. The CSTO Secretary General presented his vision of the regional and international situation and informed about the Organization's interest in developing interaction with the research centers of the member states to develop concrete measures aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the Organization.
A thematic report by the RSSU Rector Andrei Khazin was heard.
The event participants exchanged views on topical political and security issues and expressed the conviction that improving the analysis and forecasting functions in the format of the Organization would be a serious contribution to promoting the collective interests of the member states. The most relevant areas of research and specific issues of interaction were discussed.
The parties noted the important role of the RSSU as a platform for substantive discussions of political and security issues due to the university's significant expertise and experience in active cooperation with a number of the CSTO member states in this area.
The event resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of cooperation between the CSTO Secretariat and the RSSU.
