The 12th Southern Information Security Forum “Infoforum Sochi 2026” is taking place in Sochi, Russia, from June 30 to July 3. On July 1, the Forum's plenary session brought together representatives of federal and regional authorities, regulatory bodies, leading companies, and international organizations to discuss current challenges in the protection of critical infrastructure, the development of artificial intelligence, and international cooperation.

A meeting of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member States on biological security issues was held in Minsk 14.07.2023

On 13 July, Minsk hosted the 2nd meeting of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member States on biological security issues. The Council meeting was attended by representatives of all CSTO member states.

Anna Popova, Chairman of the Coordinating Council, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Russia, noted that "the intentions of Western countries to use technological results, the results of science, unfortunately, not for the good of man and not for the good of humanity, are becoming obvious”.

For his part, Alexander Tarasenko, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Belarus, pointed out that "biological safety takes into account not only the civil situation, but also cases of some emergency situations, including military actions”. He also noted that the concept of biological safety had already been approved in the Republic of Belarus.

The meeting participants have considered draft regulations for the work of the Coordinating Council of authorized bodies of the Organization's member states on biosecurity issues, as well as a report on biological-military threats in the CSTO area.

The meeting resulted in a number of decisions that will serve to strengthen the biological sovereignty of the Organisation's member states.

The next meeting of the Coordination Council will take place in December 2023.
