On March 30, a working meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) between the Organization’s Secretary General, Talatbek Masadykov, and Igor Korotchenko, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine “National Defense” and a member of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Defense.
On March 26, 2026, at the CSTO Secretariat, a meeting was held between the CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Fyodor Voitlovsky, Director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) RAS. The event was the latest in a series of meetings between the CSTO Secretary General and representatives of the scientific and expert community of the Organization’s member states.

From April 6 to 8 of this year, the Park Hotel “Ognikovo” (Moscow Region, Istrinsky District, Ognikovo settlement), the XXIII International Seminar-Conference on Mixed Martial Arts will be held with the heads of combat and physical training from the law enforcement ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states.
On March 18, 2026, in Moscow, at the CSTO Secretariat building, chaired by the head of the Russian National Headquarters, a meeting of the heads of the national headquarters for the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) ongoing operation to combat cybercrime (Operation “PROXY”).

On November 27, in Bishkek, a session of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held, chaired by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.
The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov briefed the CSC members on current international and regional security issues and the main results of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's activities during the intersessional period. The Secretary General presented a report on the Organization's activities over the past three years. The members of the Collective Security Council expressed their sincere gratitude to Imangali Tasmagambetov for his significant contribution to strengthening the Organization and his fruitful work as Secretary General. The heads of state highly appreciated the implementation of the priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship of the CSTO during the past period.
The Agenda focused on reviewing a package of strategic documents that shape the collective security architecture for the near future. These include:
Anti-drug strategy of CSTO member states for 2026-2030;
Plan for the development of military cooperation among the CSTO member states for 2026-2030.
In order to strengthen the analytical capacity of the Organization, the Collective Security Council decided to establish an Information and Analytical Department within the CSTO Secretariat. The new unit is tasked with comprehensively monitoring and forecasting the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility.
One of the outcomes of the session was the adoption of the CSTO Collective Security Council Declaration. This fundamental document reflects the consolidated positions of member states on pressing issues of regional and global security, and outlines ways to further strengthen and develop the Organization.
By decision of the Collective Security Council, the chairmanship of the Organization will pass to the Russian Federation in 2026.
During the session, the priorities of Russia's upcoming chairmanship of the CSTO in 2026 were announced. The Russian side highlighted key areas such as developing the organization's information and analytical activities, strengthening the fight against terrorism and other challenges and threats, strengthening collective security forces, and combating drug trafficking, including through the anti-drug operation “Channel.” The Russian side proposed the motto for the upcoming chairmanship: “Collective security in a multipolar world: a common goal – shared responsibility.”
The Collective Security Council appointed Taalatbek Masadikov to the position of the CSTO Secretary General for a three-year term, from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028.
