On October 30, 2024, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in Minsk. The CSTO Secretary General arrived in Minsk to participate in the II Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.
The subregional anti-drug operation “Kanal-Avangard” was carried out in the territory of CSTO member states in order to suppress the flow of drugs, their precursors and analogues and new psychoactive and potent substances into the CSTO region of responsibility, to neutralize international transnational drug groups and to eliminate clandestine drug production and undermine the economic foundations of the drug business, including the legalization of drug profits.
Representatives of the CSTO Secretariat take part in the session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs
14.03.2022On March 14-18, this year, representatives of the CSTO Secretariat on the invitation of the Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime Ghada Waly participate online in the 65th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs. The event is being held in a hybrid format at the Vienna International Center, as well as in a side event organized by the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on "Drug Situation Review in the Republic of Tajikistan in 2021".
At the request of UNODC, the CSTO Secretariat has provided a brief summary of the Organization's activities in the area of drug control in 2021.
The Cooperation Protocol between the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the CSTO Secretariat, signed in Vienna on 5 April 2006, provides the basis for cooperation.
