On June 10, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan (Russian Federation) under the chairmanship of the Russian side, with the participation of CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov. CIS Deputy Secretary General Denis Trefilov and SCO Deputy Secretary General Oleg Kopylov were also invited to attend the meeting.
On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.
A working meeting between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Babaev was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.

Today in Dushanbe, at the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, delivered a report at a meeting of the Coordination Council of the Chairmen of the Defense and Security Committees (commissions) on defense and security of the parliaments of the CSTO member states under the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
In his speech, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov noted that, given the dynamics of the military-political situation, the most important priority for the Organization was to conduct high-quality joint operational and combat training activities in order to maintain the readiness of the Collective Forces to respond to crisis situations.
“This year, one of our priority tasks is to work out practical issues related to the organization of management and coordination of the Joint Forces,” Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov said.
The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff noted that in 2025, prior to the start of joint trainings in the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Tajikistan, officers of the Joint Staff conducted instructional and methodological training sessions with trainee officers on the procedure for organizing the management and coordination of Collective Forces group commands, taking into account the experience of the Russian Armed Forces in conducting special military operations.
Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov also briefed the heads of the parliamentary defense committees on the main results of this year's joint trainings and on the planned joint operational and combat training activities for 2026.
The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues related to interparliamentary cooperation on challenges and threats to national, collective, and regional security.
