From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).
On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

The peoples of the Soviet Union rose to defend their common Motherland and paid an enormous price for peace, freedom, and the right to live on their own land.

19.05.2026On May 19, 2026, Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabayev met in Vienna with Director of the Division for Operations of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Bo Mathiasen.
The parties discussed issues related to cooperation between the CSTO and the UNODC in combating illicit drug trafficking, as well as interaction in this area with specialized divisions of a number of other international structures, including the Eurasian Group, the International Narcotics Control Board, the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs, as well as relevant structures of the SCO and CIS.
The UNODC Office was informed about the upcoming Coordination Meeting of Chief Narcologists of the CSTO member states to be held in St. Petersburg on May 20, 2026, as well as about the CSTO subregional anti-drug operation “Kanal-Yantarny Bereg,” scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 4, with its headquarters deployed in Kaliningrad.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening contacts and cooperation between specialists from the CSTO member states and representatives of the UNODC.
