On August 17–19, at the invitation of Colonel General Alexander Manilov, Chairman of the Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders of the CIS, a delegation of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov took part in international events held in the area of responsibility of the Border Directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

On August 14, consultations were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states on organizing joint training activities for command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system in 2027.

Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia marks the 20th anniversary of its status as the CSTO Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education 25.06.2026

On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

The Institute successfully implements training programs for personnel of specialized law enforcement units that form part of the special operations forces contingents of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Main Directorate for Personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and the CSTO Secretariat.

In recognition of its contribution to the training and retraining of personnel of the competent authorities of the CSTO member states, the Institute was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the CSTO Secretary General.
