The 12th Southern Information Security Forum “Infoforum Sochi 2026” is taking place in Sochi, Russia, from June 30 to July 3. On July 1, the Forum's plenary session brought together representatives of federal and regional authorities, regulatory bodies, leading companies, and international organizations to discuss current challenges in the protection of critical infrastructure, the development of artificial intelligence, and international cooperation.
On June 30 – July 1, 2026, Saint Petersburg hosted a series of events chaired by Alexander Kurenkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, with the participation of heads of the competent authorities of the CSTO member states responsible for emergency prevention and response.
From June 24 to 26, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov paid a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan at the personal invitation of President Emomali Rahmon.
From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).
The CSTO Secretariat held the 35th meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan at the CSTO Ministerial Council
On April 1, 2022, the 35th meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan at the CSTO Ministerial Council was held with the participation of the CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabayev. Delegations of the Organization's member States and representatives of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the CIS ATC, the CIS Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troop Commanders, the SCO RATS and the ICRC also took part in the event.
In the course of the meeting, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General S. Ordabayev noted that the Afghan issue continued to be very topical for the international community. Significant attention was paid to this issue in the framework of the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council (December 2021) as well as on February 16, this year, during the meeting of the UN Security Council devoted to the cooperation between the UN and the CSTO in ensuring global security. The timeliness of the Third Ministerial Conference of Afghanistan's Neighboring Countries (March 31, this year, China) on the promotion of post-conflict reconstruction and the normalization of the socio-economic situation in this state was emphasized.
The meeting participants held a thorough exchange of views on the military and political situation in Afghanistan. Information on cooperation of the CSTO member States in training law enforcement, customs and anti-drug structures was considered. The results of the work of the Group for the first half of 2022 were summarized.
At the end the Protocol of the meeting and the Plan of work of the Group for the second half of 2022 were adopted.
