On September 4, 2026, consultations on “Coordinating the positions of CSTO member states on the agenda of the UN General Assembly” were held in Moscow in accordance with the Plan of Consultations of Representatives of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States on Foreign Policy, Security and Defense for 2025–2027.

The CSTO has agreed on Plan for a regional operation to counter illegal migration in 2025
On 26 March 2025, a meeting of the International Headquarters of the CSTO regional operation “Illegal” was held under the chairmanship of Valentina L. Kazakova, Lieutenant General of Police, Secretary of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Competent Bodies of the CSTO Member States on Combating Illegal Migration and Head of the GUVM MIA of the Russian Federation.
Valery Semerikov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General, took part in the meeting and made a welcoming speech to the participants.
During the meeting, the heads and members of the national headquarters of the Organization's member states for the preparation and conduct of the operation, together with the participating representatives of the Anti-Terrorist Center and the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops of the CIS member states, as well as representatives of other interacting services of the CSTO member states, discussed the concept of the operation under the conditional name “Illegal-2025” and agreed on the timing of the stages of active measures in the current year, and clarified the procedure for the implementation of the operation.
