On 13 February, a traditional meeting was held in Moscow between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the chairs of the parliamentary committees (commissions) of the CSTO member states responsible for international relations, defense and security. CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and ambassadors of the Organization’s member states also took part in the event.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils (CSSC) Sergey Shoigu gave an extensive interview to the Interfax news agency, in which he commented on the key areas of the Organization’s activities in 2026.
On 12 February, a briefing was held at the CSTO Crisis Response Center by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Nikolaevich Serdyukov on the topic “Results of the joint training of command and control bodies and forces of the CSTO collective security system in 2025 and tasks for 2026.”
The CSTO held joint command-staff training aimed at practicing the formation and deployment of the CAR CRDF

On October 10-11, a joint command-staff training on "Preparation of proposals and draft decisions for the formation and deployment of the Central Asian Regional Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF) in the crisis area on the territory of a the CSTO member state" was held in the Collective Security Treaty Organization under the charge of First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Khasan Kaloyev.
According to the training situation, the CSTO has received a Request from the President of a member country for military and military-technical assistance to resolve the crisis situation related to the threat of invasion of the territory of a CSTO member state by illegal armed groups.
The Crisis Response Center was deployed in Moscow in response to the appeal. Officers of the Joint Staff and members of the CSTO Secretariat were included in the functional groups. Interaction with ministries and agencies of the Organization's member States was organized by videoconferencing.
At the first stage, training participants assessed the military-political and military-strategic situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, predicted its development, and developed proposals for priority measures of a political and diplomatic nature.
The second stage involved the preparation of proposals on the composition, regrouping, operational deployment and use of the CAR CRDF, as well as on the provision of military and technical assistance to a member state of the Organization.
The result of the joint command-staff training was the elaboration of a set of documents, decisions of the Organization's bodies on the formation and deployment of the CAR CRDF. The documents worked out during the joint command-staff training will be used in the joint training with the CAR CRDF "Rubezh-2022". A decision was made to dispatch a task force of the CSTO Joint Staff to the crisis area.
