On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

On June 18, 2026, the 24th Meeting of the Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (ICMEC CSTO) was held in Minsk on the sidelines of the 3rd International Security Industry Exhibition “National Security. Belarus 2026”. The meeting was chaired by Dmitry Stefanovich, Head of the Belarusian National Section of the ICMEC and Deputy Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus.

On June 18, 2026, the 2nd Military-Economic Conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, entitled “Development of Cooperation among the Defense Industries (Military-Industrial Complexes) of the CSTO Member States: 20 Years of Practical Cooperation”, was held in Minsk on the sidelines of the 3rd International Security Industry Exhibition “National Security. Belarus 2026”. The event brought together representatives of relevant ministries, agencies, defense enterprises, and other institutions and organizations of the CSTO member states.

For the first time, a gathering of representatives of the defense departments of the Organization’s member states authorized to interact with the Crisis Response Center was held at the CSTO Joint Staff 04.03.2020

On March 2–4, for the first time, a gathering was held at the CSTO Joint Staff with representatives of the defense authorities of the Organization’s member states authorized to interact with the CSTO Crisis Response Center.

The event was held under the overall leadership of the Deputy Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Major General Sergey Kuprik. It was attended by delegations of the defense departments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat.

During the event, topical issues of the organization of the interaction of the Crisis Response Center with the national authorities of the Organization's member states in everyday activities and in the event of crisis situations were considered. The directions of development of the communication system to expand the capabilities of the information interaction system, as well as information protection requirements, were discussed.

During the event in the mode of video conferencing, a joint training was held with the duty shifts of the Crisis Response Center of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the national authorities of the member states of the Organization for resolving the crisis. The order of actions of officials of the CSTO Crisis Response Center for preparing proposals to the statutory bodies of the Organization has been worked out.

The participants also visited the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation, where they got acquainted with the experience of organizing interaction between the NCDM of the Russian Federation and the federal executive bodies of Russia and the regional command centers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Commenting on the outcome of the event, Major General Sergey Kuprik noted that the format of the meeting with the participation of the heads of national government bodies responsible for information exchange within the CSTO was supported by all the chiefs of general staffs of the CSTO member states.

“The gathering held for the first time indicates that the format of such meetings is an excellent opportunity to discuss pressing issues and determine directions for further work on developing a system of interstate information interaction within the CSTO,” he said.

The deputy chief of the CSTO Joint Staff also noted that the event allowed to discuss the training of the CSTO CRC with the national authorities of two or more member states at the same time, as well as the training of officials of the CSTO CRC and national authorities of the CSTO member states at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Russian Federation on a unified training program.

“The national authorities in the member states of the Organization authorized to interact with the CSTO Crisis Response Center are the defense departments,” said Sergey Kuprik, “but we agreed to hold such events in the future with the participation of representatives and other interested ministries and departments of the CSTO member states ". The Deputy Head of the CSTO Joint Staff also noted that it is planned to hold annual meetings of officials of the Crisis Response Center of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and national bodies of the Organization's member states on organizing information interaction.
