The Open International Youth Sambo Festival of National Teams of the CSTO Member States was held at the International Sambo Center in Moscow.
On August 17–19, at the invitation of Colonel General Alexander Manilov, Chairman of the Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders of the CIS, a delegation of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov took part in international events held in the area of responsibility of the Border Directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
On August 14, consultations were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states on organizing joint training activities for command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system in 2027.
On July 15, 2026, the High-Level Regional Meeting “Enhancing Capacities to Prevent the Supply of Weapons to Terrorists in Central Asia” was held in Moscow, organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism with the participation of the Russian side.
The 4th International Youth Sambo Festival for the CSTO Prizes will be held in Moscow
On September 6 - 7, 2019, the 4th International Youth Sambo Festival for the prizes of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will be held in Moscow. Competitions are traditionally held in the Palace of Wrestling named after Ivan Yarygin (address: Moscow, Aviamotornaya St., 40). The event is timed to the 80th anniversary of the domestic sport of sambo..
One of the priority tasks of the festival is to popularize sambo among youth as an effective means of their physical and volitional preparation for service in the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the CSTO member states, as well as strengthening friendly ties between athletes from different countries.
The competitions will bring together more than 100 sambo fighters from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Moldova and Germany.
In the program of the festival, a sports camp is planned, within the framework of which a master class of famous fighters and a cultural program will be held for young people.
It is expected that sambo fighters will gain great international competitive experience, which will allow them to adequately perform at the World Championships in Tashkent on October 10-14.
The opening ceremony will be attended by: the Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Alymbay Sultanov, the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Rashid Nurgaliyev, the President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation Sergey Eliseev.
