Today, the active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” concluded on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the “Conduct of combat operations” stage, two main training objectives are being practiced: the occupation by the national contingents of the CRDF CAR of the area of responsibility and the destruction of illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The open International Youth Sambo Festival of national teams of the CSTO member states was held in Moscow, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Andrey Mordashov, Head of the Organizational Planning Department of the Organization's Secretariat, addressed the participants of the competition with a welcoming speech on behalf of the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov. He noted that the competitions of young Sambo wrestlers under the auspices of the CSTO were being held for the sixth time, and this made them a good tradition. He also stressed the importance of strengthening sports ties between the CSTO member states and popularizing martial arts as an effective means of physical and strong–willed preparation of young men for service in the armed forces, security and law enforcement agencies.
As part of the Festival, in addition to wrestling matches, young athletes took part in a sports camp, where master classes were held by famous wrestlers, world and European champions, and winners of various international competitions.
The winner of the competition, the Russian national team, was awarded the main prize – the Cup of the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
