The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the exercise, the participating forces are practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
On September 11, 2026, a round table entitled “Kazakhstan–Central Asia–Greater Eurasia: resilience and security amid new challenges” was held at the Center for Social Conservative Policy. The event was organized by the CSTO Secretariat jointly with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) and the Center for Social Conservative Policy (CSCP).
The event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, Director of the ICCA RAS Kirill Babaev, members of the CSTO Permanent Council and representatives of the academic and expert communities of the member states. The discussion was moderated by Yuri Shuvalov, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
On September 4 this year, a round table entitled “CSTO–SCO: Security Space” was held as part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. CSTO Secretariat representative Igor Panarin took part in the event.
First consultations of the heads of press services of the Foreign Ministries of the CSTO member States were held in Minsk

On November 30, 2021, Minsk hosted the first consultations of the heads of information departments (press services) of the Foreign Ministries of the CSTO member States.
With the participation of representatives of the Organization's Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff, issues of information interaction between the relevant divisions of the foreign policy departments of CSTO member States and the Organization's working bodies were discussed in detail. Particular attention was paid to developing common approaches to the coverage of the Organization's activities and to improving the techniques and methods of "digital diplomacy”.
Participants of the consultations discussed coordinated steps for further implementation of joint measures of the CSTO member States' diplomatic missions to increase information about the CSTO activities.
Proposals by the CSTO Secretariat on the implementation of the Plan of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization were considered, and additional directions for interaction between the press services of foreign ministries were outlined as part of the implementation of the Plan. The Organization's anniversary will be celebrated on May 15, 2022.
Information from the CSTO Joint Staff on the organization of press centers in the course of the preparation and conduct of joint trainings was heard.
An agreement was reached to hold the following consultations of the heads of information departments (press services) of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member States in the second half of 2022.
