On August 17–19, at the invitation of Colonel General Alexander Manilov, Chairman of the Coordination Service of the Council of Border Troops Commanders of the CIS, a delegation of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov took part in international events held in the area of responsibility of the Border Directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

On August 14, consultations were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states on organizing joint training activities for command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system in 2027.

Staff talks on the organization of the joint exercise with the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces units “Rubezh-2026” held in Kazakhstan 26.06.2026

From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).

The talks were attended by representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the CSTO Joint Staff and Secretariat.

During the staff talks, the participants agreed on the exercise concept, the schedule and procedures for the arrival of national contingents, the sequence of practical training activities, and issues related to comprehensive logistical support.

A reconnaissance of the exercise area at the Koktal training ground was also conducted.

The Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces are intended to carry out tasks related to ensuring the military security of the CSTO member states in the Central Asian Collective Security Region, including participation in repelling external military aggression and conducting joint counterterrorism operations. The national contingents assigned by the CSTO member states of the Central Asian region consist of permanently ready military units equipped with modern weapons, military equipment, and specialized hardware.
