On 23–24 April 2026, a meeting of the Working Group on Military-Economic Cooperation under the Chairman of the CSTO Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation was held
On 20 April 2026, a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Russian side. During the meeting, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov delivered a report entitled “On the progress in implementing the decisions of the November (2025) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and measures taken to counter challenges and threats to collective security.”
On 17 April 2026, a working meeting was held at the CSTO Secretariat between Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Central Asia, Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kaha Imnadze.
On 17 April 2026, the 17th meeting of the Working Group under the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils on information security was held in Moscow, with the participation of delegations of representatives of national coordinating and competent authorities on information security, as well as experts and specialists from relevant national structures and agencies of the Organization’s member states.
On 16 April 2026, the 21st meeting of the Council of the CSTO Consultative Coordination Center for Computer Incident Response (CCC CSTO) was held in Moscow, with the participation of delegations of representatives of national competent authorities for computer incident response of the Organization’s member states, as well as a delegation of the CSTO Secretariat headed by Umarzoda Umar Safar, Head of the Countering Challenges and Threats Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
The Republic of Kazakhstan will host a special training of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the CSTO under the code name "Cobalt-2025"

From September 29 to October 3, this year, in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Almaty region, in accordance with the Plan of joint training of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system for 2025, a special training will be held with special forces of the internal affairs bodies, national security, internal troops (National Guard), special and anti-drug services, as well as emergency rescue and firefighting structures that are part of the special forces formations of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF FSSN), under the code name "Cobalt-2025".
Before the start of the training, a command and staff training session will be held with the operational staff of the Operational Headquarters of the CSTO CRRF FSSN on planning and conducting a special operation, as well as competitions in military-applied sports.
During the active phase of the training, combined special forces groups of the competent authorities of the Organization's member states will solve training and applied operational combat tasks in conditions as close to combat as possible.
In the process of working out the training tasks of the special operation, special forces from the CSTO member states will work out issues of interaction in neutralizing gangs and terrorist groups, suppressing the activities of drug producers and blocking drug trafficking channels, as well as eliminating the consequences of emergencies resulting from hostilities and terrorist acts.
Valery Anatolyevich Semerikov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General, will take part in the active phase of the training and summarize its results.
Representatives of the relevant CIS and SCO structures have been invited to observe the training.
