On 5-8 November, for the first time, Astana is hosting a Meeting of officials from the national bodies of the CSTO member states authorized to interact with the Organization's Crisis Response Centre. This year, the Republic of Kazakhstan, which holds the CSTO Chairmanship in order to familiarize itself with the functioning of the command posts of the defense agencies and ministries concerned, has proposed that these annual meetings be held alternately in the Organization's member states.

The theme of the meeting is: “Main areas for improving information interaction with national bodies authorized to interact with the CSTO Crisis Response Centre”. Its main purpose is to improve the effectiveness of information cooperation between the CSTO Crisis Response Centre and national bodies.

The event is attended by delegations headed by the heads of the central command posts of the defense agencies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, officials from the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the CSTO Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat, as well as the deputy heads of the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops and the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center.

On November 6, at the National Defense University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chaired by Major General Arsen Rakhmanov, Head of the CSTO Crisis Response Center, presentations on the military and political situation in the regions of collective security and the main directions for improving information interaction for crisis response were heard and discussed. Major General Fazylollah Badenov, Head of the National Defense Control Centre and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a report on experience in organizing information interaction.

During the Meeting, on November 7, it is planned to visit and familiarize with the work of the National Center for Defense Management of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Operational Management Center of the Department of Internal Affairs of Astana.
