In Yerevan, under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Drug Trafficking Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Kirill Smurov, a meeting of the Working Group of the Coordinating Council of the Heads of the competent authorities on countering drug trafficking of the CSTO member states was held. The event was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The first deputy chief of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Arman Sargsyan delivered a welcoming speech. Then, the forum participants discussed the state and dynamics of the development of the drug situation in the CSTO member states. In addition, the results of the tactical and special exercises of the anti-drug special units “Thunder-2019” ("Grom-2019") held in Kyrgyzstan were summed up.
