The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the exercise, the participating forces are practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
On September 11, 2026, a round table entitled “Kazakhstan–Central Asia–Greater Eurasia: resilience and security amid new challenges” was held at the Center for Social Conservative Policy. The event was organized by the CSTO Secretariat jointly with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) and the Center for Social Conservative Policy (CSCP).
The event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, Director of the ICCA RAS Kirill Babaev, members of the CSTO Permanent Council and representatives of the academic and expert communities of the member states. The discussion was moderated by Yuri Shuvalov, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
On September 4 this year, a round table entitled “CSTO–SCO: Security Space” was held as part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. CSTO Secretariat representative Igor Panarin took part in the event.
A special training with the intelligence forces and means of the CSTO member states “Search-2019” has completed in the Republic of Belarus

For the training, the training grounds of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus were involved. The idea of the training envisaged that the enemy brought sabotage and reconnaissance forces to the territory of the country and intensified intelligence activities.
The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant General Ravkov A.A., who praised the events, attended the closing ceremony of the training on October 18, 2019. He further noted that the level of training of all the forces and means that participated in the training causes respect. “There is no doubt that the participants in the training are real professionals. Such trainings are necessary for reliable protection of our countries. This stage of the training was dynamic, eventful, which allowed its participants to demonstrate high military skill, professionalism, coordination and fieldcraft. The military intelligence officers of the Organization’s member states and the fighters of the Internal Troops and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus have completed the tasks,” said the Defense Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
Upon completion of the demonstration of practical actions, new and modernized at the enterprises of the Republic of Belarus military and specialized equipment samples were presented.
The trainings showed the level of interaction between the forces and means of intelligence of the CSTO member states in the course of practical actions under performing intelligence missions.
