The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the exercise, the participating forces are practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.

On September 11, 2026, a round table entitled “Kazakhstan–Central Asia–Greater Eurasia: resilience and security amid new challenges” was held at the Center for Social Conservative Policy. The event was organized by the CSTO Secretariat jointly with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) and the Center for Social Conservative Policy (CSCP).

The event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, Director of the ICCA RAS Kirill Babaev, members of the CSTO Permanent Council and representatives of the academic and expert communities of the member states. The discussion was moderated by Yuri Shuvalov, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat.

The 13th meeting of the CSTO Coordinating Council for Emergency Situations was held

On August 18, in Moscow, the thirteenth meeting of the Coordinating Council for Emergency Situations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member States with the heads of emergency services of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan was held, chaired by Alexander Kurenkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management.

The CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov addressed the meeting. He informed about the tasks in the line of emergency for 2023, as well as about the work done in the Organization on the establishment of the Coordinating Council of the authorized bodies of the CSTO member States on biological security.

The meeting participants heard and approved information on the implementation of the Plan of cooperation of the authorized bodies of the CSTO member States in the field of prevention and liquidation of the consequences of emergencies in 2020, and approved the relevant Plan for 2023.

The parties have approved the candidacy of Vadim Sinyavsky, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, as the next chairman in the Coordination Council for Emergency Situations of the CSTO member States.

It was decided to hold, respectively, in the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan, trainings "Skala-2023" and "Skala-2024".

The agreements reached during the meeting were reflected and signed in the final protocol.

At the invitation of the Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management Alexander Kurenkov members of the CSTO Emergency Coordination Council took part in the International Salon "Integrated Security - 2023".

Today, Ministers of Emergency Situations of the CSTO member States will take part in the business program of the III International Fire and Rescue Congress.
