On May 20, consultations of representatives (experts) of the defense agencies of the CSTO member states aimed at improving air defense and developing the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff headquarters.
On May 20–21, 2026, a Coordination Meeting of Chief Narcologists of the CSTO member states was held in St. Petersburg within the framework of the Russian Federation’s chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

On May 19, 2026, an international round table on the topic “CSTO: together for strengthening international peace and stability” was held at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria, on the sidelines of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation in Europe.
On May 18, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, together with the heads of the diplomatic missions of the CSTO member states in Vienna, took part in a solemn wreath and flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Soviet Liberator Soldier at Schwarzenbergplatz.
The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov held talks with representatives of the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On 10 October 2023, in Astana, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, and the Assistant to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gizat Nurdauletov. During the meetings, the sides discussed preparations for the upcoming meetings of the Organization's statutory bodies - a session of the Collective Security Council and a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.
Imangali Tasmagambetov has informed the interlocutors about the progress of coordination of draft documents planned to be submitted for consideration during these events, including the issue of improving the crisis response system of the Organization.
They also discussed topical issues of the CSTO's activities, including those related to the forthcoming transition of the presidency of the Organization to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
