On 13 February, a traditional meeting was held in Moscow between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the chairs of the parliamentary committees (commissions) of the CSTO member states responsible for international relations, defense and security. CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and ambassadors of the Organization’s member states also took part in the event.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils (CSSC) Sergey Shoigu gave an extensive interview to the Interfax news agency, in which he commented on the key areas of the Organization’s activities in 2026.
On 12 February, a briefing was held at the CSTO Crisis Response Center by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Nikolaevich Serdyukov on the topic “Results of the joint training of command and control bodies and forces of the CSTO collective security system in 2025 and tasks for 2026.”

On August 26, 2025, in Moscow, in accordance with the Plan of Consultations of representatives of the CSTO member states on Foreign policy, security and defense for 2025-2026, consultations of representatives of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states on the agenda of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly were held.
The event was attended by plenipotentiary representatives of the CSTO member states, heads of relevant departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and staff of the CSTO Secretariat.
During the consultations, the importance of strengthening the role of the United Nations as a central coordinating mechanism in maintaining international peace and security was emphasized. The parties outlined in detail the national priorities and initiatives of the CSTO member states during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The prospects for the participation of the CSTO member states in UN peacekeeping activities were discussed. The intention to further develop the CSTO–UN cooperation in various areas of cooperation was stated.
The consultations once again confirmed the high degree of convergence of approaches to the modern UN agenda and the intention to strengthen allied solidarity among the CSTO member states and coordinate foreign policy activities in the World Organization.
