28 April marks the Day of the CSTO Joint Staff. It should be recalled that on 28 April 2003, in Dushanbe, the Collective Security Council, guided by the need to establish a military staff body responsible for implementing the military component of the Collective Security Treaty, adopted the Decision “On the Establishment of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.”

The CSTO Deputy Secretary General and Special Representative of the CSTO Secretary General for Peacekeeping, Taalatbek Masadykov, held a meeting at the Organization's Secretariat with a delegation from the Monitoring Group (MG) of the UNSC 1267/1989/2253 sanctions committees on ISIS and “Al-Qaeda” and 1988 on the Taliban Movement.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of an interested exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East, Afghanistan and other regions, and on the threats posed by terrorist groups.

The participants agreed to continue the exchange of information.
