On September 11, 2024, in Bishkek, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

The parties had a thorough exchange of views on the politico-military situation in the CSTO area of responsibility. They discussed the implementation of the priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan chairing the Organization, as well as issues related to the forthcoming chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side in 2025.

The Secretary General of the Organization informed the Head of State about the active phase of the CSTO command-staff training “Interaction-2024” with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF), the “Search-2024” and “Echelon-2024” special trainings that had been completed on the territory of the Republic. He noted the high level of organization of the events.

Imangali Tasmagambetov also informed about the implementation of the decisions of the Collective Security Council, including the CSTO Special Interstate Policy for strengthening sections of the Tajik-Afghan Border approved at the spring session.

The importance of consistently strengthening cooperation in all aspects of the CSTO's competence and of building up its military and political potential in the context of growing international tension was recognized.
