28 April marks the Day of the CSTO Joint Staff. It should be recalled that on 28 April 2003, in Dushanbe, the Collective Security Council, guided by the need to establish a military staff body responsible for implementing the military component of the Collective Security Treaty, adopted the Decision “On the Establishment of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.”

On November 20, 2025, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov met with Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the Collective Security Council of the Organization. They discussed a wide range of issues related to the CSTO Collective Security Council session scheduled for November 27 in Bishkek.

The CSTO Secretary General also reported on the implementation of the Priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic's CSTO Chairmanship and the results of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) exercises and joint operations held this year.

In recognition of Imangali Tasmagambetov's achievements and significant contribution to strengthening security and friendship between states, Sadyr Japarov awarded the CSTO Secretary General the Order of Dostuk, a state award of the Kyrgyz Republic.
