31.01.2019On January 31, 2019, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General Piotr Tsikhanouski and the Head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Russian Federation, Belarus and Moldova Magne Bart held a working meeting at the secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (Moscow).
The working meeting was also attended by staff and officials of the Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff, representatives of the ICRC Regional Delegation.
During the working meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on issues relating to the state of cooperation between the CSTO Secretariat and the ICRC Regional Delegation and its improvement directions.
One of the important results is the confirmation of mutual interest in deepening the interaction between the CSTO and the ICRC to comply with the provisions of international humanitarian law applicable in armed conflicts, and to provide protection and assistance to people affected by armed conflict and emergency situations.
