On June 18, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Erlis Terdikbaev, the next meeting of the Working Group under the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers on electronic warfare was held.

The event, chaired by the Chief of the Electronic Warfare Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yuri Lastochkin, was attended by representatives of the defense departments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and a group of officers from the CSTO Joint Staff, headed by the Deputy Chief of the Center for Planning the Use of Troops (Collective Forces) of the CSTO, Lieutenant General Anatoly Yakovlev.

The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov, in his video address to the participants of the working meeting noted that modern armed conflicts were characterized by a rapid increase in the role and place of electronic warfare in achieving the goals of military operations. "The active development of high-precision weapons, primarily enemy unmanned aircraft, controlled via radio channels, including using satellite systems, determines the need to improve the forms and methods of electronic suppression of control, communication and navigation channels. This is also evidenced by the experience of conducting a special military operation. These aspects must be taken into account in the context of improving both the national armed forces and the military component of the CSTO collective security system," the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff said.

During the meeting, the experience of using the forces and means of electronic warfare of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in modern armed conflicts, as well as the improvement of the CSTO regulatory framework in the field of electronic warfare were discussed.
