On 22 April 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a working meeting between the Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Samat Ordabaev, and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kakha Imnadze.

From 22 to 26 April, this year, the CSTO Secretariat is holding an annual training meeting for representatives of ministries and departments of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states without military status.

The meeting was held in the city of Moscow under the chairmanship of Viktor Zinoviev, Secretary of the CSTO Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation (ICMEC, Commission).

On December 13-14, on the basis of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Joint Staff, consultations of representatives of concerned ministries and agencies of the member states of the Organization to consider documents of joint training of command bodies and formations of the forces and means of collective security system were held via videoconferencing.

Representatives of concerned ministries and agencies of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff took part in the consultations.

The meeting has discussed measures aimed at increasing the readiness of the forces and means of the CSTO collective security system to carry out earmarked tasks. Joint trainings are conducted against the background of the general military-political and strategic situation being developed by the CSTO Joint Staff in cooperation with the CSTO Secretariat and interested ministries and agencies of the CSTO member states in order to coordination the command bodies and formations of the forces and means of the collective security system and test their readiness.

The consultations provided an opportunity to discuss, finalize and agree on the draft Plan for joint training of command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system for 2024 and the List of measures for joint training of command and control bodies and formations of the CSTO collective security system for the period until 2030.

The agreed draft documents will be sent to the member states of the Organization for domestic approval.
