On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

On June 18, 2026, the 24th Meeting of the Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (ICMEC CSTO) was held in Minsk on the sidelines of the 3rd International Security Industry Exhibition “National Security. Belarus 2026”. The meeting was chaired by Dmitry Stefanovich, Head of the Belarusian National Section of the ICMEC and Deputy Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus.

On June 18, 2026, the 2nd Military-Economic Conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, entitled “Development of Cooperation among the Defense Industries (Military-Industrial Complexes) of the CSTO Member States: 20 Years of Practical Cooperation”, was held in Minsk on the sidelines of the 3rd International Security Industry Exhibition “National Security. Belarus 2026”. The event brought together representatives of relevant ministries, agencies, defense enterprises, and other institutions and organizations of the CSTO member states.

On March 3 - 5, consultations were held at the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on improving the joint training of command and the forces and means of a collective security system of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and a working meeting of representatives of the defense departments of the CSTO member states on organizing events in this area in 2020.

Representatives of the defense departments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan (via videoconferencing), the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Secretariat and the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization took part in the event under the overall leadership of the First Deputy Head of the CSTO Joint Staff.

IMG_7546.JPGDuring the event, taking into account the proposals of the representatives of the defense departments of the CSTO member states, the sides discussed and agreed on improving joint training, conducting strategic command post training and first staff negotiations on organizing and conducting joint trainings with the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in 2020.

To all parties in the development of the intentions of the special exercises Echelon 2020 and Search 2020, the command and staff exercise Interaction 2020, the joint exercise Frontier 2020 and the command and staff exercise Unbreakable Brotherhood 2020, should be taken as the basis Plan of the operational-strategic task developed by the CSTO Joint Staff for conducting joint operational and combat training of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in 2020.

The participants in the working meeting discussed participation in joint exercises conducted with the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces), representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the border services of the competent authorities of the CSTO member states.

As a result of consultations and a working meeting, agreements were reached, in particular, on the inclusion of representatives of the Republic of Serbia in the composition of the participants in the command-and-staff exercise "Indestructible Brotherhood 2020". The participation of representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan as observers in the joint training “Frontier 2020” was approved.
