The event was attended by the Head of the Department for the Study of Regional Security Problems of the Strategic Research Centre under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sayhamid Sharifzoda, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO, Khasan Sultonov, and representatives of the Tajik media.
Representatives of the defense departments of the CSTO member states have discussed the prevention and control of coronavirus infection COVID-19
16.04.2020On April 16, the CSTO Crisis Response Center hosted out-of-schedule consultations of the heads of the military medical services of the defense departments of the CSTO member states on the prevention and control of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19.
Under the general supervision of the Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, the main military experts in the field of epidemiology, infectious diseases, anesthesiology-resuscitation of the defense departments of the CSTO member states participated in the event through video conferencing.
The reports were provided by the chief infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - the Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov, Colonel of the Medical Service Konstantin Zhdanov, Chief Anaesthesiologist-Resuscitator of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - Head of the Department of Military Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of the Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov, Colonel of the Medical Service Aleksey Schegolev, Professor of the Department of General and Military Epidemiology of the Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov, Colonel of the Medical Service Alexander Kuzin.
Participants of the consultations paid special attention to the discussion of issues related to the organization of work in the observation mode and tactics of managing serious patients.
Summing up the event, the Head of the CSTO Joint Staff noted that the specialists were able to discuss the prevention and control of the new coronavirus infection and familiarize the consultation participants with the experience of the medical service of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, obtained through close interaction with the civilian health care of the Russian Federation, as well as during the provision of assistance Russian troops in Italy and Serbia.
It was noted that in addition to maintaining the health of service men and members of their families, the defense departments are responsible to maintain the survivability and military’s preparedness.
Agreements were reached on continuing interaction in this format on the analysis of information on the situation related to the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19, and on the operational exchange of experience between specialists from the defense departments of the CSTO member states.
