On May 26 of this year, a round table entitled “35 Years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Tasks, and Prospects” was held at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. On November 26 and 27, 2025, Minsk hosted the International Military Scientific Conference “Applied Aspects of Scientific Activity in the Field of State Defense and Security” organized by the Research Institute of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus. The event was attended by representatives of the CSTO Secretariat, the Executive Committee and Secretariat of the CIS CMD, a UN Special Rapporteur, delegations from the defense ministries of CSTO member states and a number of other countries.
Pavel Muraveiko, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, delivered a welcoming speech and a report on “Trends in the Changing Nature of Wars and Armed Conflicts.”
The CSTO Secretariat Consultant Pavel Sarkisyan delivered a report on “The Information and Analytical Activities of the CSTO Secretariat.”
In a series of sessions, the parties discussed a wide range of regional security issues in detail.
The host organized a visit to the Khatyn State Memorial Complex for the conference participants. A representative of the CSTO Secretariat left an entry in the guest book.
