On July 3, Minsk hosted celebrations dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, in which the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas took part. On July 2, he attended a solemn meeting dedicated to this holiday with the participation of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The ceremonies were attended by the ambassadors of the CSTO member states.
Stanislav Zas also held talks with the heads of power structures of the Republic of Belarus on issues of interaction in the CSTO format.
The Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (the Republic Day) is the main holiday of Belarusian statehood. It is celebrated annually on July 3 in honor of the liberation of the capital of the Republic of Belarus Minsk from Nazi invaders in 1944.
The decision to celebrate the Independence Day on July 3 was made during a republican referendum in 1996.
On the Independence Day, the Days of several Belarusian cities are also celebrated.
The CSTO Permanent Council agreed upon the draft Regulation on the Interstate Working Group on the implementation of measures to create a single system of technical protection for the railways of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states
On August 15, 2019, under the chairmanship of the Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aman Mambetseitov, a meeting of the Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organizationthe was held, in which the CSTO Deputy Secretary General Piotr Tsikhanouski took part.
During the meeting, the draft Decision of the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO "On the Regulations on the Interstate Working Group on the Implementation of the Single Technical Protection System for the Railways of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states" was reviewed and agreed upon. It was decided to submit the draft document for consideration of the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO.
The draft Decisions of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO “On Amendments to the Regulation on the operation of permanent operation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states to combat crimes in the field of information technologies (PROXY operation)” and the List of Topics of Joint Statement in 2020 were discussed and modified. The draft List is supposed to be considered at the joint meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO in November this year.
