On September 17 of this year, the advance team of the CSTO mission in the Republic of Armenia, headed by Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, conducted monitoring of the situation in several areas adjacent to the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Representatives of the Armenian Armed Forces demonstrated the consequences of shelling on the territory of an air defense unit. The Mission also visited the town of Goris and the village of Akner in the Syunik region, where an artillery shell hit a residential building and caused damage.
"The main task of today was to visit the territories, the places where the clashes took place: areas, settlements, positions of the Armenian side units that were subjected to fire. We try to be as objective as possible, so we will work on the facts, it is too early to talk about any conclusions," Colonel General Anatoliy Sidorov said after the visit.
