On June 10, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan (Russian Federation) under the chairmanship of the Russian side, with the participation of CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov. CIS Deputy Secretary General Denis Trefilov and SCO Deputy Secretary General Oleg Kopylov were also invited to attend the meeting.
On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.
A working meeting between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Babaev was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.
The first stage of the joint Business Game on the assessment of the military-political and strategic situation in the CSTO area of responsibility has begun.
26.03.2019March 26, this year . In the CSTO Crisis Response Center, under the leadership of the Organization’s Acting Secretary General Valery Semerikov , a joint Business game has been launched to develop solutions aimed at preventing and resolving crisis situations.
Members of the CSTO Secretariat, representatives of the CSTO Joint Staff and operational groups of interested ministries and departments of the Organization's member states take part in the joint business game.
Opening the first stage of the Business Game, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, noted that the specifics of the conditions for holding the Games are working out crisis response mechanisms simultaneously in several regions of collective security.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Organization, Piotr Tsikhanouski, in turn, stressed that each crisis situation has its own causes, nature and development trends that must be taken into account in order to ensure an effective and timely response to contemporary challenges and threats.
Today, the first stage took place, during which questions on the assessment of the military-political and strategic situation in the CSTO area of responsibility and the preparation of proposals for priority political and diplomatic measures, as well as the use of forces and means of the collective security system in the zone of resolving a crisis situation in the conditional state member of the organization. These measures include including the provision of military, military-technical and humanitarian assistance.
On the basis of the presented analysis of the military-political and military-strategic situation in conditional member states of the Organization, the working groups developed proposals on draft decisions of the CSTO statutory bodies aimed at implementing joint measures to resolve crisis situations. At the same time,
the influence of individual neighboring countries, military-political blocs and alliances on the situation in the collective security regions was taken into account. In addition, questions were worked out on the organization of interaction both between the established groups in the CSTO Crisis Response Center activities, and with the operational groups of the Organization's member states.
