From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.
On June 3, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers (CDM) was held at the Patriot Central Park of the Russian Ministry of Defense under the chairmanship of the Russian side. On May 28, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov took part in the International Security Forum held under the auspices of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. More than 150 delegations from 120 countries participated in the event.

On December 4, at the invitation of the Iranian side, a delegation from the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, led by Chief of the Joint Staff Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, took part in the final stage of joint anti-terrorism trainings conducted by the competent authorities of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization “Sahand-Anti-Terror 2025” in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov praised the coordinated and skillful actions of the anti-terrorist units participating in the trainings, and also stressed the importance of states' readiness to jointly counter terrorist challenges and threats in the current environment and the need for further close cooperation between the CSTO and the SCO in the field of security.
The trainings were conducted at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps training ground. Special forces from the Organization's member states took part in the final phase of the trainings. Their actions were observed by delegations from SCO member states, neighboring countries and partners, and international organizations.
The trainings are aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the field of security and counterterrorism, as well as improving coordination between the SCO, the CSTO, and the CIS.
