28 April marks the Day of the CSTO Joint Staff. It should be recalled that on 28 April 2003, in Dushanbe, the Collective Security Council, guided by the need to establish a military staff body responsible for implementing the military component of the Collective Security Treaty, adopted the Decision “On the Establishment of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.”
On 27 April 2026, within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Contours of a New Architecture of Collective Security: Current Issues of Information and Analytical Partnership within the CSTO,” held at MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, a round table entitled “Eurasian Analytical Platform: New Approaches in a New Geopolitical Reality” took place. During the event, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat Yuriy Shuvalov delivered a presentation on “The Eurasian Analytical Network: A New Cognitive Architecture of Collective Security.”
The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff took part in the events of the 12th International Exhibition of Armaments and Military Equipment “MILEX-2025”

Today in Minsk, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov took part in the events of the 12th International Exhibition of Armaments and Military Equipment “MILEX-2025” at the invitation of Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.
“MILEX-2025” is a forum of developers and manufacturers' enterprises, which traditionally offers a wide range of military and dual-use product samples, as well as a variety of programs for modernization of weapons and military equipment. The main objectives of the exhibition are to promote technical re-equipment and increase the efficiency of the armed forces and to develop military-technical cooperation.
After visiting the exposition, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov noted that the “MILEX-2025” international exhibition contributed to the further development of military and military-technical cooperation between the CSTO member states. At present, the Organization is continuing to develop and improve the regulatory legal framework and is implementing practical measures of long-term programs and plans to equip the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) with modern weapons, military and special equipment and special means.
At the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council (November 2024), the “List of standard modern and advanced samples of weapons, military and special equipment proposed to equip the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Collective Security Region” was approved.
The Chief of the Joint Staff also noted that equipping the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) with modern weapons, military and special equipment was one of the priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship in the Organization in 2025.
Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the organizers of the international exhibition for the opportunity to participate in the events, as well as for the high level of their conduct.
